Therapy for Professionals
Therapy for Healthcare & Veterinary Professionals in Dublin
When your mind won’t let something go
Working in healthcare or veterinary medicine can be deeply rewarding, but it can also carry a particular kind of pressure.
High levels of responsibility, demanding workloads, emotionally difficult situations, perfectionism and the expectation to keep functioning can gradually take their toll. You may be very capable at what you do and still find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or increasingly unable to switch off from work.
At Think Clear Therapy, I offer confidential psychotherapy for healthcare and veterinary professionals who need a space where they don’t have to be the person looking after everyone else.
You don’t need to be at breaking point to seek support.
Therapy for Healthcare Professionals
Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals can spend much of their working lives managing responsibility, uncertainty and the needs of others.
You may be dealing with heavy workloads, difficult clinical situations, fear of making mistakes, challenging workplace dynamics or the pressure to maintain a professional exterior even when you are struggling yourself.
Over time, this can contribute to anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, self-doubt, intrusive thoughts or difficulty separating work from the rest of your life.
Therapy provides a confidential space to step outside your professional role and explore what is happening for you.
Therapy for Veterinary Professionals
Veterinary work brings its own particular emotional demands.
Alongside clinical responsibility and demanding workloads, vets and veterinary professionals may regularly encounter animal suffering, euthanasia and grief, distressed owners, difficult clinical decisions and the emotional impact of caring deeply about the work you do.
There can also be considerable pressure around getting things right. Fear of making a mistake, perfectionism, difficult interactions, complaints or repeatedly questioning decisions can follow you long after the working day has ended.
Therapy can provide somewhere to process these experiences without judgement and to explore their impact on your wellbeing, relationships and life outside work.
What Therapy Can Help With
I work with professionals experiencing:
Work stress and burnout
Neurodivergence, including masking and overwhelm
Anxiety and overwhelm
Difficulty setting boundaries or switching off from work
Perfectionism and self-doubt
Workplace difficulties and challenging professional relationships
OCD and intrusive thoughts
Emotional exhaustion and the impact of caring for others
You may recognise one of these experiences, several of them, or simply have a sense that something isn’t working as well as it used to.
You don’t need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what is wrong before coming to therapy.
A Confidential Space Away From Your Professional Role
Who is this for?
For people working in caring professions, asking for help can sometimes be particularly difficult.
You may be accustomed to being capable, dependable and responsible for other people. There can be a strong expectation – from yourself as much as anyone else – that you should be able to cope.
Therapy offers a different kind of space. You don’t need to perform, have the answers or look after anybody else during the session.
My Approach
My approach is humanistic, integrative and person-centred, with additional training in CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I am also a trained Neurodiversity Coach, which brings an additional understanding of neurodivergent experiences including masking, overwhelm, burnout and navigating demanding working environments.
I also have additional training in suicide prevention and understand that, at times, work and life pressures can become extremely difficult to carry alone.
Confidential Psychotherapy in Dublin City Centre
I offer psychotherapy to adults in person in Dublin City Centre and online throughout Ireland.
